It should have 3/4 inch free travel. clutch didnt release and had to kill it to stop. a few years ago the man replaced the clutch and the flywheel. I was helping a guy set up to haul corn this morning. I adjusted the free travel on the clutch pedal and now when I engage the pto it partially releases the main clutch and the pedal gets stiff to return and sometimes have to pull it up with foot and clutch seems to slip with pto engaged. the reverse issue is just the lever under the dash. First I checked the priority valve to see if it was stuck, but it was moving fine. yours may be different if it is older,but it could be simmiler. the sideways shift action that shifts forward and reverse is the suspect area.
